The Noonoo© Design Company Ltd. have come up with a highly original look at the traditional Comfort Blanket.

Inspired by children for children, Jo Ashburner has placed real childhood art and images at the very heart of her Comfort Blanket designs, which enhance the powerful emotional attachment and feelings of security a child receives from a beloved comforter.

Jo first came up with the idea for the Noonoo© Comfort Blanket when she recognised a need in her own son, and her very first Noonoo© Comfort Blanket was for him.

The result is a collection of original, innovative and interactive comfort blankets supplying not only a child's need for comfort and security, but also providing visual, tactile and intellectual stimulation relative to their age.

The My House Noonoo© Comfort Blanket has patch windows, which incorporate felted finger curtains opening to reveal bobbles. The front door of 'My House' has its own felted door knob. The four corners of the Noonoo© Comfort Blanket are secured with felted ties.

These three dimensional interactive felted add-ons are intended to stimulate an infants desire to explore and tie, and at the same time as offering multiple handles to grip onto. The asymmetrical form of the embroidered house, its chimney and smoke, are intended to stimulate perception of form and perspective.

Slug Bug Comfort Blanket Ref: 240
All Noonoo© comfort blankets and bags are made of felted lambswool.

The Slugbug Noonoo© Comfort Blanket is embroidered with an image drawn by a three year old boy, after a day out at his grandpa's farm, and has been identified as a slug.

The three slugs are either patched to the Noonoo© Comfort Blanket; secured by a flap or loose on a felted rope, and the latter two can be threaded through the button holes or hidden in the felted pocket.

The edges of the Slugbug have asymmetric bundles of felted fingers and toes, as well as a series of loops through which little fingers can explore. This Noonoo© Comfort Blanket is highly interactive and stimulating.

The Woodbug Noonoo© Comfort Blanket was originally drawn as a woodlouse by a two year old boy - over time his explanation of the imagery has altered to include spiders, crabs and various other crawly folk.

This Comfort Blanket presents a multitude of fingers and toes, all interactive for maximum wiggling. The texture of the embroidery as well as the asymmetrical placement of the woodbugs encourage counting, order and exploration.
