Over the last couple of weeks Ellie’s been rolling everywhere, I can’t leave her for a second! She’s still getting her arm trapped underneath her and gets very cross with herself.
It seems crazy that in just 24 weeks, this tiny baby has now started wriggling and moving all over the place. Once she starts crawling the boys will have a good reason to tidy away their lego – highly edible!
Talking of food, we’re in our third week of weaning and have tried loads of veg, apple and pear. But now poor girl is really bunged up and hasn’t gone properly for a couple of weeks – would love to know if any of our followers have a good cure? I’ve heard that cutting out baby rice and bananas helps. We’ve even tried prunes but they didn’t help either. I guess we’ll be off to the docs if it doesn’t improve..
We’re still breastfeeding and Ellie’s hands are very fidgety – grabbing my hair, fiddling with my bra strap! She’s also getting very distracted and not really feeding properly. I’m just starting to cut back on the lunchtime feed, then I guess the next one to go will be the tea time feed. Actually feeling a little sad that soon she’ll be weaned and I’ll no longer be a milking machine! Have loved every minute of the breastfeeding (and I never thought I’d say that).
As for sleeping, grrr…! We’re now up between 3 and 5 am, but am trying not to give in and instead giving Ellie a bottle of warm water with just one scoop..I reckon she just might be getting hungrier and will perhaps try her on some cereal at tea time.. will keep you posted to see if this helps.
We’re off to Spain in 3 weeks (having nightmares about packing for five people), and there’s a few handy baby bits I’ve bought – a portable squashy high chair, a travel Grobag (you can strap them into the buggy / car seat whilst still in their Grobag, am hoping to get Ellie asleep before we go out!!?) and a little ‘Sleep Sheep’ – a cute little sheep that straps to the cot and plays lovely sounds like the ocean and a heartbeat. So..Operation Packing here we come – wish me luck!
